State Police say they have been getting calls all night, after what appeared to be a hoax was perpetrated on the public when some person sent a text message to cell phones about missing children in the Mercer County area.

While police say no alert was issued, had it been issued it would of gone out by Email, Radio and TV but not cell phone as no program exists as of yet to do so in the State system.

Some private companies will offer this service, which is ad driven, and others like THE LOST will offer text mail and email, but tonight’s message is not real police say.
