Hampton Inn Seeks To Build New Hotel In Vernon Township

hampton_inn_front_sm.jpgVernon Township officials recently received a proposal from Staralliance Hotels Inc. to build a 73-unit Hampton Inn at a four-plus-acre commercial property near Quality Inn and Auto Zone on Dawn Drive.

The township’s approval for the project is necessary before work proceeds because the three-story hotel’s proposed height — just over 45 feet — exceeds the maximum height limit of 35 feet established under the township’s zoning regulations.

A public hearing before the township Zoning Hearing Board is set for Dec. 18 to review and accept public comment on the proposal.

Company officials couldn’t be reached for comment on the proposal Wednesday.
